Accra in Color

This collection is an ode to the vibrant, expressive spirit of Accra, the city where I was raised. I wanted each look to feel like a celebration—of color, of movement, of identity. What makes this body of work especially meaningful is that I designed each textile from concept to execution. I sketched patterns inspired by Ghanaian aesthetics and worked with skilled artisans in India who brought those visions to life using the tambour beading technique. Seeing my ideas translated into hand-beaded textiles was transformative—it gave me a deeper appreciation for the craft and the global connection of fashion. The biggest challenge was perfecting the communication between concept and craft across continents, but the final outcome was worth it. This collection represents the joy of cultural pride and the beauty of slow, intentional fashion.
